The 2019 Aontas Star Awards ceremony took place in the Pillar Room at the Rotunda Hospital on Monday, 4th March. As recipients of a 2018 Star Award, RADE was invited to present awards to this year’s winners in the Social Inclusion category.
Change Makers and The Dublin Simon Community won in the Social Inclusion category. Change Makers, a partnership between Inishowen Development Partnership, Donegal ETB and Self Help Africa, raises awareness and action around Development Education themes with adults. The Participation and Development Service at Dublin Simon Community is dedicated to improving wellbeing, self-esteem, socialisation and independence for adults experiencing homelessness.

It was great to have the opportunity to participate in this year’s awards ceremony as previous recipients. Winning an Aontas Star award last year recognised and affirmed the positive work we do and helps to enhance our reputation in the area of adult education. We are sure that all 2019’s winners will benefit from winning the Star Award.
